Vintage Tropical Regency Rattan Pineapple back barstools in the style of Palecek

Nice set of 2 vintage rattan and bamboo barstools featuring dramatic hand-carved pineapple-form back splats. Dating to approximately the 1980s, these sculptural barstools embody the relaxed sophistication of Tropical Regency and classic Palm Beach design.

Each one features a tall rattan frame with gracefully curved arms, wrapped rattan joints, turned details and a prominent carved pineapple centered within the back. The natural honey-toned finish has developed attractive variation and patina with age.

Removable upholstered seat cushions.

The pineapple has long been associated with hospitality and welcoming, making these especially appealing as dining, game-table, breakfast-room or statement chairs in a coastal or tropical interior.

The design is strongly reminiscent of vintage Palecek natural-rattan furniture; however, no manufacturer’s label or tag has been located, so the chairs are being offered in the style of Palecek rather than attributed as confirmed Palecek manufacture.
