Blue and White porcelain has a long and fascinating history dating back to the Tang Dynasty in China over 1000 years ago. Traditionally made by painting cobalt blue designs onto white porcelain using underglaze techniques, resulting in intricate and beautiful patterns.

Handmade by skilled artisans using traditional techniques ensuring the highest quality and authenticity, the base of the lamp is a porcelain scallop lidded Tea Jar hand painted in a Chrysanthemum floral motif.

The lamp measures approximately 23 3/4 inches high from the base to the matching finial with the porcelain Tea Jar measuring approximately 9 inches high. The wooden base the Tea Jar sits on measures approximately 8 inches wide and 5 3/4 inches deep.

The lamp, with a three-way socket and a brass knob switch, is in perfect working order, and in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs to the porcelain. There are a few minor, unobtrusive nicks on the wooden base.
